Repair operation method of air valve leak

Repair operation method of air valve leak

In many cases, the air valve on your inflatable paddle is not fully tightened by the factory. When you try to inflate, you will notice that air seems to be leaking from the side of the valve. Or after several times of use, the air valve becomes loose, causing air leakage after inflation. If you encounter this situation, don't worry, it is normal. Follow the repair steps we provide below, step by step and patiently operate, you will get a perfect sup.

How to find the exact location of the air leak?

  1. In order to find out the exact location of the leak, please inflate the SUP to 10-15 PSI.
  2. Clean the leaking surface. If you cannot find the location of the air leak, apply soapy water to the area where you suspect the air leak. If air leaks, soapy water in the area will foam.

After finding the exact location of the air leak, we can start repairing the paddle board!

  1. The air valve may burst and hurt people because the paddle is full of air. For safety, please release the air in the paddle board before repairing.
  2. Take out the wrench from our repair kit. Stand on both sides of the valve and apply down pressure to prevent the inner hole of the valve from rotating in the paddle (otherwise, the inside may remain loose in the future). Then turn counterclockwise to unscrew the valve.
  3. Sometimes the inner valve part is not aligned with the hole, please be sure to align it.
  4. After the inner valve is aligned, clean the wire drawing and sand and gravel fragments inside.
  5. Finally, use a wrench to rotate clockwise until it can no longer be tightened. (It is also necessary to stand on both sides of the valve and apply downward pressure to prevent the inner hole of the valve from rotating in the paddle.)

Installation is complete, now you can inflate to test the effect!

Special attention:

1. Do not apply glue to the air valve!!!
2. Pay attention to the direction of the wrench: unscrew it counterclockwise and tighten it clockwise!!!
